Crock Pot Cheesy Sausage Rotini

This isn’t my normal crock pot style of recipe. Most of the time you’ll find me using recipes that cook at least 4 hours and most of the time mine run about 8 hours. Honestly, I want my food to cook for 8 hours so I’ll have 8 hours to do stuff – 8 hours to go away, to clean, to be free from dinner, or maybe just so I’m less likely to burn it to a nasty, crusty mess. But this cheesy sausage rotini is one of those pasta recipes that is a little different.

You’ll find this particular dish only takes 2-3 hours. So, what on earth is the point? You could easily make this on your stovetop and be done in 30 minutes. But maybe you shouldn’t…

Crock Pot Corn Chowder

The idea for this crock pot corn chowder recipe came from a church cookbook. Seeing as how I have about 20-30 of them, I get lots of ideas there. 🙂 Some of the ideas turn out good. Some of them don’t turn out at all and I have to scrape them out with the assistance of a chisel and a sledgehammer.

I used to feel bad about this fact – until I read that most great chefs get their groundbreaking ideas from something they see somewhere else. They just put their spin on it, add something new, or use a different technique. So, if a chef can do it, so can I! Take a seat, Chef Boyardee! After all, no recipe will ever come out that hasn’t been made before. I just have to “Stacify” them.

Crock Pot Maple Bacon Wrapped Chicken

I’ve been known to say that you can make dirt taste good by adding bacon. I stand by that statement. Bacon is like ketchup, but BETTER. If you want your kids to eat something, add bacon or ketchup. Or sometimes even both. Do you know that my brother in law puts ketchup on everything? E.V.E.R.Y.T.H.I.N.G. Of course, we can’t really stand by his culinary genius, because he also wraps his Pop Tarts in cheese. So, he doesn’t count. Take maple, bacon, and chicken, and you’ve got a real winner.

But yes, I am a bacon lover. Hardly a day goes by that we don’t have bacon in SOMETHING. Last night on Pinterest I saw someone wrapping their Cinnamon Rolls in bacon. Now that, my friends, is culinary genius.  Chocolate Bacon. Bacon Bacon. Candied Bacon. The world has gone crazy over bacon. And I hate to say this…but I liked bacon before liking bacon was the cool thing to do. Of course, I was frugal before frugal was cool too – I hope eventually that OCD will also be cool and then I’ll really fit in.

Crock Pot Cheeseburger Soup

cheeseburger soup

I have an obsession with all things cheeseburger. It’s a problem sometimes when it causes me to wake up at 3 am and seriously consider traveling somewhere to get one… And I’m always dreaming up ways to create dishes that taste like cheeseburgers…things like Cheeseburger Pizza and Cheeseburger Meatloaf,or the Pioneer Woman’s Cheeseburger Salad. And of course, this amazingly delicious Crock Pot Cheeseburger Soup.

Crock Pot Chicken Enchilada Casserole

I think I enjoy Fix and Forget Friday as much as you guys do. It seems these days my schedule is totally full. It’s nice to have a meal in the crock pot so that I know when I get home dinner is ready to go…..as long as I have remembered to turn the crock pot on. In my defense, that only happened ONCE. And maybe it wasn’t even my fault. Maybe the cord somehow wiggled itself out of the outlet. It could happen. Today we’re making Crock Pot Chicken Enchilada Casserole. Yum! Barry gave this a 9 out of 10 (and that’s impressive ladies. Usually I only get an 8). Barry saves his 10 for Tiramisu and Berryhill Baja Grill in Texas.

Crock Pot Cheeseburger Meatloaf

You might recall that I already have a recipe on this site for Crock Pot Meatloaf, but it calls for potatoes and carrots…this crock pot cheeseburger meatloaf is like one big cheeseburger patty. It’s just heaven on a plate.

I first came across a recipe for Cheeseburger Meatloaf somewhere on the internet and I changed it to suit our tastes…and then I knew I could re-create it to be fixed in the crock pot. It is literally the best meatloaf I’ve ever had.

In fact, when I made it the first time, Barry was out of town. I got up from the table and got my phone to text him. I said “I just made the best meatloaf of my entire life.” And then we ate it all without him. Sad how things work out that way for him. Oh well. I was happy and so was Annie.

Crock Pot Lasagna

Crock Pot Lasagna. How can something so simple be so good?

Holy Moly. How can something so simple be so good? Usually I make lasagna from scratch (my Mama’s recipe), but I wanted to try this one because it just seemed too easy to be true. The reviews were great, so I went for it. And I was blown away. This crock pot lasagna is AMAZING!

Even Annie, who hated noodles AND meat when I first came up with this recipe, ate her entire plate of this. I liked it because I was able to start it during the day and have dinner done later when things were busy. Nice. On the 8th Day, God invented Crock Pots. Amen.

Crock Pot Chicken Enchilada Soup

chicken enchilada soup

I love soup…that should be evident by all the soup recipes on here. And I have to warn you – more are coming. It’s inevitable. Something about a hot and spicy, or thick and creamy, soup just gets me all excited. I’m a huge fan of enchiladas, so putting them in soup form just makes get all giddy. Add in the crock pot and I don’t quite know what to do with myself. I’m not sure where this obsession with my crock pot might take me…but wherever it is, I hope you’ll visit me. Put this crock pot chicken enchilada soup on your next meal plan. You’ll thank me later. 😉

Crock Pot Hot Dog Chili

crock pot hot dog chili

I think we can all agree on one thing. And that is this…no dog deserves to be naked. Nakedness is illegal. Unless you live in a nudist colony…which isn’t all bad because, less laundry. It ain’t a hot dog without chili. If you think otherwise, that’s okay…sometimes, you’re wrong. Admitting it is the first step to dressing your dog.

I’ve been making this hot dog chili for most of my adult life. I got the recipe from my friend Kendra’s mom at a cookout after Barry and I were first married. I couldn’t stop eating it…it was rather embarrassing.

20 Crock Pot Pumpkin Real Food Recipes

20-real-food-pumpkin-recipes

In just yet another area of life, I feel like a rebel. Why? Because if I can I confess something here.. I’m just “okay” with pumpkin recipes. I like it well enough, but I don’t scream and jump up and down when Pumpkin Spice Lattes are hitting the local Starbucks. I can eat pumpkin any time of year – and I do! – but I’m not cuckoo over it.

I will admit though, there is something about turning leaves and crisp mornings that makes me crave pumpkin just a little bit more. Even I can’t deny that something about pumpkin combined with spices makes me want to put on wooly socks and flannel pajamas. And I know I’m not alone in this. In fact, I’ve been seeing yummy pumpkin foods and cozy fall posts all over Instagram, Facebook, and Pinterest for weeks now!

But seriously… what is it with pumpkin anyway?

From Pumpkin Spice Lattes to Pumpkin Milkshakes to Paleo Pumpkin Pancake Mix – pumpkin flavors are LITERALLY turning up everywhere and in everything. What is it about this fall flavor blend that gets everyone so fired up? The world may never know…

You’ll either love this tip or hate it. 🤣⠀ You’ll either love this tip or hate it. 🤣⠀
⠀
If you hate it, just scroll on by. 🤍 But it was helpful to us. 🥰⠀
⠀
Often, I have a hard time getting my kids to remember things I’ve taught them, like how to properly clean a toilet or clean mirrors. “I forgot.”⠀
⠀
You know what they don’t forget? Stuff they watch on You Tube. 🤪🤪⠀
⠀
So I went to You Tube and sourced kid videos about cleaning the bathroom. The kids all watched them. ⠀
⠀
Now they’re all cleaning their own bathrooms. Boom. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Worked for us. ⠀
⠀
** Just search on YT for “kid cleaning videos” and see what you find. Different parents have different parameters for what they allow. Barry and I screened videos first but each person can find their own. ❤️🤍

⠀
Hard times can make us or break us.

Our family experienced some big changes and shocks and pruning (removing) in 2021. Some days I didn’t want to get out of my house or my bed.⠀
⠀
But already we are coming out of darkness into His wonderful light and I can see - I can see the benefits of hard times. ⠀
⠀
New beautiful growth and hope. ❤️⠀
⠀
What is one benefit YOU have experienced from hard times?
This culture has nothing to offer our family.⠀
⠀
I lived for too long believing that hustle was to the benefit of this family. ⠀
⠀
God’s call upon our life isn’t to hustle and grind our days away while we prove our worth and see our success. ⠀
⠀
No, friends. It’s God’s desire that when people look at you and me, they don’t see US or what WE accomplished but instead say:⠀
⠀
Wow, only God did that. ⠀
