Slowly in our home, we have replaced things that are harmful or contain harmful or toxic chemicals. Over time, we’ve been able to do better! We don’t believe it has to be all or nothing. We believe gradual change is the kind that sticks! When you jump in and try to do something 100% whole hog – it’s too much!
If you are a new follower of the blog, you might be wondering…what is KonMari? KonMari is another name for decluttering and it is actually not really a new thing. It originally became a trend when Marie Kondo published her book The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up in 2014. The idea of the KonMari style of decluttering has just resurfaced lately thanks mostly to the new TV show on Netflix. But Barry and I started our journey with KonMari over 4 years ago and we owe a lot of thanks to Marie Kondo and her book.
The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying up really did change our lives. Let’s get into how.[Read more…]
One of the questions I get asked the most often from readers who know I use essential oils and supplements is…
How in the world do you afford all those essential oils and supplements?
Lots of you have expressed interest, but are worried that there is no room in your budget for these pricey essential oils and supplements! We prioritize our health and wellness and are able order $300 or so worth of oils, supplements, etc. each month. How do we do this?? Here are four ways I can afford my essential oils and supplements.[Read more…]
I do a lot of how-to articles. And I share a lot of recipes. I give y’all tips on everything from cleaning products to food storage. But today’s post isn’t information that you can take and go implement. There are no physical steps to take or list of action items. Today I’m sharing something that I hope goes in to your head and heart and hopefully changes your attitude.
A while back I was having a conservation with one of my dear friends, Jessica, from Smartter Each Day. We were chatting about the idea of belief, and the hard reality that there is always going to be someone who disagrees with the things you do. This could apply to anything in life: from your faith, your health, your parenting, or even your marriage. No matter what you do and what choices you ultimately make in life, someone is always going to disagree with you. [Read more…]
I realize it’s been a while since I talked about this, and if you have been a follower for a while, you may recall that I have talked before about how I organize my days. I do it in a very specific way and turns out, the concept is not new AT ALL. I actually first heard about it when I when I was younger – like a lot younger. We’re talking when I was a little girl.
Any of y’all remember Little House in the Big Woods?
When it comes to clothes, Stitch Fix is a good fit for me – and might be a good fit for you, too! Before I get started though, it’s important for y’all to know that when Barry and I were first married, Stitch Fix was not a realistic option for us. When we were on a strict budget (read, super tight), trying really hard to pay off our debt, decent clothes were not even on our radar.
If you are in a place where you have a little bit more disposable income for clothing, or nice clothes are a high priority for you, keep reading.
Barry and I are not setting resolutions. We don’t have big resolutions for January 1 to change our bodies, to start a new, good habit (or quit an old, bad one!), or to start saving more money. While those aren’t bad things, in the Myers household, we set goals, not resolutions.
In fact, our 2019 goals revolve around the fact that we want YOU to succeed.
I’ve been blogging for a LONG time – and I’ve done so many live videos that I sometimes feel like is no possible way I’ve got something to share that I haven’t already told y’all! And yet, one of the most common things you ask me to talk about more is homemaking tips. Well…I’m still a work in progress, but I have learned a few things that I’m happy to share. So…let’s dive in to some things I’m commonly asked about homemaking. [Read more…]
Before we get started, let me explain what Thieves® actually is, since some of you are probably thinking this post is about how Stacy and Barry recommend you deal with criminals. Sorry to disappoint. 😉 Thieves® is the name of Young Living’s blend of: Clove, Lemon, Cinnamon Bark, Eucalyptus Radiata, and Rosemary essential oils. It is used in several cleaning and personal care products, and it is the oil blend that was our “gateway drug” to essential oils. So…if you’re one of those people who thinks oils are hokey and silly, this actually might be the perfect article for you, because that’s where we were before Thieves®.
First, some history (legend): In France during the 15th century, grave robbers would steal from the graves of those who had been killed by some of the terrible plagues Europe was suffering through in those days. According to the popular legend, the thieves protected themselves by covering their bodies in a combination of clove, rosemary, and other botanicals which kept them safe. When caught, the government showed them mercy if they were willing to share the recipe for this concoction they used to ward off the nasty stuff they were exposed to when they dug up the graves. Young Living’s Thieves® essential oil blend is based on what those thieves used in the middle ages. So what made us decide to ditch all the cleaners and most of the chemical products in our house and switch to Thieves®? [Read more…]
If you follow me on Instagram you know that I love Bible journaling. I repeatedly get asked about it, but I actually don’t know that I have ever written or shared about it. Why? Because y’all, I am not an artist! That is just not my gift or platform, but I absolutely love it.
Let me just say again…I am not an artist! I only took the bare minimum when it came to art in school. But God introduced me to Lisa over at CreativLEI.com. We became friends and she taught me how to letter. She actually has a free 30 day lettering course on her website. And thanks to her, I learned how to get fancy with my letters. I learned Calligraphy and how to be more creative with my writing style.
