NOTE: This uses 11×17 inch paper. You can find it easily at an office supply store (View this page – Metal barricade). Some stores even sell them by the sheet so you could buy just as many as you needed. This paper is from Office Depot. Our computer will not print 11×17, so we printed our sheets at church and reimbursed the church office. That might be an option for you if you don’t want to print at a store like Office Depot.NOTE TWO: If you don’t want to print on your 11×17 paper, you could just as easily write the names out or stencil them. Make do with what you have and what your budget allows. |

I think it would be a great idea to create table placemats from story book pages. It should be more good if you choose fairy tale story book. There are always wonderful pictures in these books.
Really cute! This would be great for the books they tear apart…except a prize few pages!
So true! 🙂
Love it! I OWN a laminator, lol! I also own a bunch of books, and the used book sale at the library is Thursday! I can find a cool coffee table book and make placemats for my in-laws, woo-hoo!
DUDE! You have your own lamination machine?! I’m totally jealous!
Yes I do! 🙂 However, I woke up realizing I can’t do 11×17. 🙁
🙁 Oh well…..but it still rocks that you have one!
I guess I know what my boys are getting from you for Christmas hehe! :-p
I hope you can keep a secret. 😉
I will 😉
🙂 Thanks.
What a cute gift idea Stacey! I love that you used those vintage books. So cute.
Thanks Lindsay. 🙂 I’m a lover of all things vintage.
Thank you so much for this post. I knew I had seen this somewhere and was wanting to make Christmas placements from an oversized book – The Night Before Christmas. I’m wondering if I can keep from cutting out the pages… just maybe smoosh the open bookdown on the printer or something? Anyhow, thanks again for the post:)
Good luck! 🙂 I am glad you enjoyed the post.
Office supply stores like Office Depot and Staples laminate. There are also some other business or teacher stores that laminate. Of course it does cost a little, but not a lot.
Yep, that’s why it’s a good option to ask at church or school. 🙂 Office Depot charges $2.99. See above.
I know right? I think I want one to OWN.
I love, love, LOVE THIS! Can’t wait to make one for Emma, for Christmas maybe 🙂
I must say–I am FREE to comment more now b/c I don’t have a sea of emails staring me in the face every morning! Actually, I don’t think yours has even come yet…but I’m here! 🙂
Stacy, I.LOVE.THIS.IDEA!!! LOVE IT! And I am impressed. You say you are about as non-crafty as me. (Are you telling the truth? ;). Actually, I think I could do this. Ok, I’ll admit. Will will probably have to help me. He will be afraid I will laminate my fingers. Because, really, that is something I would do! (He commented that he was afraid I was going to chop them off in my new food processor!!)
I am pinning this and may have to try it this year! This would also be a great idea for a teacher to do with for her students!
Yes it is a great idea for teachers! Smart thinking! 🙂 And I totally made Barry do the laminating part. 😉
Very cute! I have a book right now that has no cover on it and I’ve been pondering over what to do with it to immortalize it.
Problem solved! 🙂
