Recently there was a music video that took the parody world by storm – “I’m Sexy and I Know It.” This is the type of song I would never sing…unless I was being silly and dancing around the house like a freak of nature. Not that I would ever do such a thing. *Cough* The song is really rather vulgar. And I would NOT recommend watching the video…unless you think Speedos are sexy. Pardon me while I go gag.
Anyway, there was a SMART girl who decided to make a video called “I’m Pregnant and I Know It.” If you haven’t seen this video yet, go watch it. It’s pretty funny. 😆 On You Tube you can be “ANYTHING and You Know It.”
My friend Tia, from Sweet T Photography, suggested that Barry and I make a video with the same song and call it, “I’m Debt Free and I Know It.”
As you might guess, this tickled me to pieces. We had SUCH FUN making this music video…and let me tell you, I got some WEIRD looks at the gas station – and a few times I was worried about getting mugged for my $20.
Barry is the voice you hear in the video – he sang it…and he’s pretty good if I say so myself. He put everything together and I wrote the lyrics. So, enjoy. 😀

Oh my gosh, I love this video! With Dave Ramsey’s system, we have eliminated half our debt and should be debt-free in the next two years. When that happens, I’m totally celebrating by dancing to this video! LOL You should send this to Dave!

I’ve recently discovered your website/blog etc. and I’ve been so inspired by you. My husband and I are working towards getting debt free ourselves! I can’t wait until we can say “WE USE CASH!” We’ve actually been on the right track as far as credit cards go, we haven’t had a credit card in over 5 years. But we still have debt. Some unemployment and taking new jobs/paycuts have hurt us but we’re getting there. Two years ago was rough for us, we both lost our jobs, forced to take lower paying jobs. But I started couponing and we’ve saved so much. We used to spend 400$ or more in groceries each month but I’ve shaved that down to under $150 a month, sometimes less!!! We also lost our home to foreclosure and filed bankruptcy. But we have vowed this year and the years to come are going to be different. We’re saving $$$ in our savings account and lots of it for the first time! Thank you for being such an inspiration. Right now I’m focusing on paying our car off, taking those savings from groceries and applying it to the car to get it paid off!!! And the next house we buy we’ll be buying it with CASH! No financing for us!!! I look forward to the day I can sing along with you, I’m Debt Free and I Know it!!

We did TMMO and paid everything off, which allowed us to purchase our house back in 2010 (first home, 15 years into our marriage with three kids). That was terrific. I loved it.
Recently you did a post on it was enough to “do your best” and I commented to you that day that your message came just at the right time because our house was on the market (notice I said “was”) and I was busy with my editing job at home and hardly had time to try and keep the house in “show view,” and that people were coming to look at the house that afternoon.
They did. They bought! The Lord did so many miracles in the sale; it was amazing. Now we’ll be spending the summer in an apartment (here in Montana), while we build our pole building house on the same land with our family, including four granddaughters in Idaho – with CASH! The mortgage was the last debt to go.
Thanks for all you do. Even though I’m busy (as most everyone is), I always read your posts.

“Doesn’t your car drive better” sounding just like Dave! My neighbor just bought a brand new Lexus, because the transmission or engine went out in his El Camino, and his Corvette “only holds socks and underwear.” He claimed days before buying the new car that he didn’t really want a payment, and next thing I know there’s a new Lexus in the driveway. He told me his lame excuse about the El Camino, and I told him what Dave says-that a car drives better with no payment behind it, but my neighbor apparently likes to impress people with his fancy cars and debt 🙂
