Back in 2010, I did a picture tutorial on how to fold a fitted sheet. Since then, some of you have asked me if I would do a video instead so that you could see it in action – or so you could laugh at me and point fingers – because really…what sane person FOLDS FITTED SHEETS?
I’ll tell you who folds fitted sheets – me. And I actually enjoy it. I like seeing it in a nice, little square in my cabinet. I’m OCD like that.
Even if you never use this method – you’ll still think of me every time you wash sheets now…you’re welcome. 😉
Enjoy!

You did this better than Martha Stewart. I can actually see myself doing this. 😉 thank you so much.
Stacy says
🙂 That made me grin. Thanks.
Milk Allergy Mom says
I love the challenge of folding fitted sheets. I watched some video a few years ago but I have to watch yours because I know you will make me laugh. 😉
Amber says
I somehow missed this post before (and I hate folding fitted sheets!) so now I’m really excited and almost tempted to go unfold all mine and refold them your way. Buuut…I won’t. I do remember my Mom being good at it and one weekend when I was younger and staying at my Dad’s I asked him to help me fold and his response, being a man, was “Why do you need to fold it?” Sigh.
Also, I love your voice! Andy is adorable!!!
Stacy says
Typical man thing. 😉 We love them though!
Alex says
My grandma taught me everything but the laying it out and making the sheet as rectangle-y as possible, and now I see I was missing a step! I start out like you, but end up looking like Barry’s lol. Great video ^_^ I especially like the “Ooh look, a hole! Surpriiiiiise!” Made my morning 🙂
Stacy says
Someone around here is a little scissor happy. 😉
Lexie says
I’ve been wanting to do a folded sheets video too becuase I LOVE folding them! haha! I do mine differently too so that’s interesting. My mom taught me how when I was a wee little thing. I hold one corner in my hand and work my way around until I have them all in my hand, then lay it out and fold. 🙂 I know you care!
Stacy says
Of course I care – us OCD people gotta stick together!
Diana@Spain in Iowa says
Oh my gosh, thank you!! My version isn’t so much like Barry’s, but definitely not as nice as yours. I’m excited to fold sheets tomorrow 😀
Stacy says
YEAH! I’m excited for you! Instagram that puppy! And by puppy, I mean sheets…unless you also want to Instagram your dog. That’s cool.
Lisa says
I. Have. Needed. This. Tutorial. For. Years.
My folded fitted sheets always looked like rectangles with the corners cut off. You make it easy! I missed the step where you tuck the corners in for this whole time. Thankee!
Stacy says
LOL This comment made me laugh out loud!
Liz says
WHOA – never heard you talk before!
Stacy says
HA! I’m sorry about that.
Kameel says
Yup, I learned a similar technique from my aunt. Only difference she puts all corners together and then starts to fold. Works like a charm!
Stacy says
Aunts are smart.
Donna says
Yea, I finally understand the concept. Thanks so much. I had given up trying to fold a sheet correctly.
Stacy says
🙂 Ta da!!!
Mindy @ Creating Naturally says
You’re so cute 🙂
Stacy says
🙂 You make me grin.
Sandy says
My mama would be so proud of you!! She always would say “you don’t want to put wrinkled sheets on your bed.” I also place my sheets in one of the pillow cases. Barry and my husband seem to have the same sheet folding method. It’s a man thing.
Stacy says
Men – but we love ’em. 🙂
Kandi says
Before watching the video, I was thinking that you were gonna iron the sheet first. That scared me. 😉
Stacy says
I don’t iron sheets…but I do LOVE to iron. 😉
Tara says
I store fitted and flat sheets in the pillow case to keep the whole stack together in the linen closet!
Stacy says
Nice!
Kay says
Right on, Great idea thanks!
Stacy says
🙂
Amy says
I don’t think you are OCD on folding fitted sheets. I have ALWAYS folded my fitted sheets the way you do. My mother taught me how to fold them about 30 years ago like that.
Stacy says
Smart mama. 🙂
Maria says
You mean you don’t roll it into a ball???
Stacy says
LOL No! I’m way too OCD for that.
Shannon says
I have nearly lost my sanity folding fitted sheets!
I think the key is having a surface to work on (whether the bed, couch, or even the floor).
Stacy says
Yes – I’ve tried the floor…but that means I have to vacuum more often. LOL I’ll take the bed. 😉
Nikki says
Okay I’ve watched videos like this before, but have never understood exactly what the women were doing, until NOW! Maybe its cause you sound like me lol. (: And now I have a strange urge to go home and refold all my fitted sheets to make them pretty…..argh. haha
Stacy says
GIRL! Are you country too?! 🙂 Only country people sound like me!
Nikki says
Country and proud! lol. I’m from North Carolina and I have a pretty heavy accent. I used to date a New Yorker guy and went up there to visit his family once. He had to translate everything I said to his family cause no one could understand my accent! haha
Stacy says
Sooooooooooooooooooooooooo been there. So, I bet you say “It’s about to come one.” And that means, “It’s about to storm big.”
Crystal says
It’s so good to see someone else fold their fitted sheets! My mom taught a similar method to my sisters and me when we were little kids and since then I haven’t seen anyone fold their fitted sheets.
Stacy says
It just makes me feel all warm and snuggly. lol
Kacey Bostrom says
A thing of beauty! I never could get the past getting the initial corners together and now you have shown me how! Thank you!
Stacy says
Booya. Go forth and fold.
Lori says
I must confess….I do like hearing you talk….even folding sheets sounds cooler in a Southern accent. My kids tell me I have a Minn-ee-sooo-tah accent, especially after talking to my dad, but I beg to differ. I will try this next time I wash sheets, but I don’t know how successful I will be. I only have the top of the washer to fold on, so that could be an extra challenge. But I will try…cause the folded fitted sheets will take up so much less room in the drawers where I store them. (Right now I am using the husband technique to fold.) Thanks for posting the video! Keep them coming!
Stacy says
And the husband technique is totally acceptable. Today I am washing and putting straight back on the bed because we only have one set of flannel sheets and it’s cold. 🙂
Carolyn says
I fold mine on the back of the couch. It hangs down and I can grab it easily. I would do it on the bed, but my little guy would bounce all over and mess up my pretty folding job.
Stacy says
SMART! I might try that next time!
Cheryl P says
Loved this video! I guess I never watched the ones about the house or something, cuz I never read/hear you in my head with a Southern accent. 🙂 And Andy is SO cute! 🙂 That’s the way I fold me fitted sheets too. 🙂
Stacy says
I will tell him. 🙂 I think so too!
Rebecca says
Ball ’em up and toss ’em in the closet! Andy is the cutest lil man, after my lil man of course!
Stacy says
As long as you keep the door closed, no one will ever know. 😉
Tara H says
Genius! 🙂 I would have never thought to do this…my method is more like what you showed as Barry’s method!
Andy is precious! 🙂
Stacy says
LOL So Barry has a kindred spirit.
Christina says
That is how I fold fitted sheets as well. 🙂 My husband tries, but just can’t figure it out.
Andy is adorable.
Stacy says
Yeah – but we still love our men! 🙂
Brandy says
Andy’s little hands sticking up above the best are so sweet.
Stacy says
Ha! 🙂 It took 4 times before I could do a video where you couldn’t hear him more than me. 😉
