Granny Panty Underwear Review: Because No One Likes a Wedgie

Back in May, I did a series of photo posts on my personal Facebook page – about granny panties. Yup, you heard me. I was sick and tired of having wedgies all day – and having these skimpy panties that didn’t feel good (or look good) on my rear end. I WAS FINISHED! I wanted some granny panties – the kind that actually covers your backside and makes you feel supported! So here is my official review of all the granny panties I tried!

I ain’t got time for some skimpy little string rubbing in the wrong places when I’m bent over all day picking up toys and scrubbing toilets. Nope. I’m done with that! It’s granny panties and full coverage for LIFE for me.

Not knowing where to go, I trusted my friends (and even my orthodontist), so I asked questions and I got answers. In the end, I ended up trying 7 different types of undies. SEVEN. I was not playing around. These are things that the world needs to know!

There is something important to note: I did list my sizes below. I’m not ashamed of the size of my bottom – it’s larger than the rest of my body. So, please make sure you measure yourself before ordering. I think that’s key! Also, don’t underestimate the size of your booty – it’s usually bigger than you think it is. NO ONE ELSE is going to see the tag size of your undies, so just get the pair that fits and FORGET THE SIZE. Mkay?

Here is my review of seven “granny panties” I bought to try:

Buck Naked Underwear from Duluth Trading

I got these because so many folks recommended them – and I went with my friend Nectaria’s advice. Your friends know your bottom.

I got a brief, boyshort, and hi-cut brief. They feel SO GOOD!! I love them!

It is important to note, the boy shorts DID give me wedgies, so I don’t wear them as often. I think it’s the cut/shape of my body that makes that style of undie not great for me – but the texture, feel and fit of these are GREAT!

It really does feel like you’re wearing nothing. 🤣🤣🤣

Invisi-Skivvies from Duluth Trading

These are much like the pair I got from Peachy Panty (below)! They don’t come up as high and aren’t slimming but they are so comfy and they do smooth your tummy. 

I love them!!!! They leave NO panty lines! And they don’t ride up or give you wedgies!!! I love the style of this type of panty. It covers EVERYTHING and still feels nice and smooth.

Ahhh Rhonda Shear Hi-Cut Brief (bought on Amazon)

Even at an XL, these are too small. In feel and not riding around, they score 100%! They didn’t bother me all day – but they are small for me so they leave definite underwear lines. They have the texture of microfiber. So it’s kinda like wearing your cleaning cloth. Which is weird.

If you go with this one, go up at least one size, maybe two. It’s the smallest XL I’ve ever seen.

Soma

I’d love to tell you more specifics on these but I can’t find my email confirmation OR the pair I bought on their website and I also cannot log in. That’s just how things go for me online. lol

I bought this one pair of Soma undies because I trust my orthodontist. You have to be able to really trust people who take your mouth in their hands. That sounded weird, but I think you know what I mean.

Verdict? I really like them! They are super soft and comfy. The lace is pretty and I love the print I chose. 

They do NOT ride up. They stay put all day. No wedgies. I call that a win! Wish I had gotten a few pair. They are more pricey than I normally choose but good undies are hard to come by. They definitely get two thumbs up!

Ellen Tracy (bought on Amazon)

Now guys, I’m not gonna win any “trendy” contests with these but HELLO!
They are so comfy and so soft!! They don’t ride up. They don’t give wedgies. The panty line is very faint. They are not 100% cotton, but more like a synthetic fabric feel.

I got 3 pair and I’m so excited since they turned out great! I wear these ALL THE TIME!!!

Opiboo 100% Cotton Comfort Panties (bought from Amazon)

Several folks recommended these and I can see why!!! For my “I need cotton” folks out there! These are 95% cotton and 5% spandex for stretch. Yes, please!

These don’t seem to have a control top, but they do come up high which is what I need. They are super soft and super comfy! 

I like undies that come up high because they smooth my mom pooch. And I dig that.  They do have a panty line but I am wearing a skirt today and can’t see it. 🤷‍♀️ It would only be an issue with something super tight or sheer. 

No wedgies. No shifting. No cutting off my circulation. I call these a TOTAL WIN!!!!

Bijou. (I think) (bought from Amazon)

So here’s the weird thing. I got these based on a review from my friends. But the tag says Bijou and the paper inside the package said Peachy Panty?? 

Anyway, I thought I was gonna hate them. I actually saw them and thought “I’m gonna just try them on so I can say I don’t like them.”

Ummmmm, I LOVE THESE SO MUCH!! The top doesn’t have much give, but it comes up high and covers up my mom pooch wonderfully!!!

Not only that, but they are so silky, fit so well and have virtually no panty lines! 

I’m so glad I got 4 pair!!

The Granny Panty Summary

As you have read, I gave several of these a “two thumbs up” rating because they really were great. Here’s the thing: I asked my friends (in advance) for their input and so I got to bypass a lot of the junk I might have otherwise bought. Also, I like some variety in my underwear depending on what I’m wearing, so that allows me to give positive ratings on multiple styles of underwear.

So here is a bit more detail: if you need cotton granny panties, totally go with the Opiboo from Amazon. Great price, great fit, great feel…super comfy!

If you aren’t as concerned with that, definitely check out Duluth Trading and pick up a few different styles there!

I like the others, but those were my favorites. Hope that helps! Now…go clean out your underwear drawer, pare down your closet, and commit to wearing things you actually LOVE – including covering your hiney with comfort.
