Bacon-Wrapped Green Beans

I’m not much one for fancy side dishes. For our family, I usually serve the basics, like rice or oven-roasted potatoes with a vegetable. But every once in a while, it’s fun to dazzle your family with a more gourmet-type side. And these bacon-wrapped green beans do just that.

And really? I don’t know why I don’t make these more often. They don’t just spice up an otherwise boring meal, but they are actually very easy to make!

All you need is: one package of bacon (pork or turkey is fine, and my family prefers uncured), 1 lb. fresh or frozen green beans (untrimmed makes them pretty) and some type of sauce or seasoning (my husband’s favorite is barbecue!).

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

One by one, grab a handful of green beans and simply wrap a slice of bacon around each handful to create a bundle.

Drench each bundle in your sauce of choice. I usually place each bundle in a large bowl and pour the sauce over them, working to coat the bundles well with my hands. Although my husband prefers barbecue, my favorite flavor is an Italian dressing. Any salad dressing or sauce can work. Be creative!

Ready to bake!

If desired, sprinkle additional seasonings on top of the bundles. My husband loves a Cajun kick mixed in with his barbecue! This step is optional.

Place the bundles in a 9×13 baking dish. Bake for 30 minutes.

There you have it…an easy-peasy side dish that your family and guests will drool over!

We usually enjoy these served alongside a chicken dish, like creamy lemon-pepper chicken.

And here’s my little secret….if I need a quick, light dinner, sometimes I will actually make these for the main dish! The bacon and green beans are the meat and veggie, and I just pair them with a starch and garlic-cheese biscuits.

if you use already pre- cooked beans you only have to do them in a bakingpan for warming and making the bacon crunchy. makes it a fast sidedish.

I will definitely try this. Sometimes I wrap proscuitto around asparagus and sprinkle with parmesan cheese and bake and we love it.

How can anybody not LOVE balsamic vinegar?? I could drink it straight out of the bottle! In very small, ladylike sips, of course.
