We’re all looking for decent gifts to give this Christmas. Thankfully, I’m all about making life easier so I’ve done the hard work for you. In the coming series of posts, I’ll share some excellent Christmas gifts that we have and love and make great gift options. And guess what? All of them are $25 or less! Let’s dive right into the gifts!
Day 1 – Brownline Planner – This is one of the best things I ever did for planning…online calendars just don’t work for me. SO, if you have a paper lover in your life, I am sure they would be tickled with this planner. I use mine every day.
Day 2 – Play Tea Set – This was one of Annie’s votes. She has two sets and uses them almost daily. Her favorite set is from Ikea ($10) but she also has this set from Melissa and Doug. You can likely find it at any mass retailer or even a consignment store! Andy also likes playing with it! They have “tea time” regularly. A good gift for any young girl.
Day 3 – Personalized Ornaments from Mackley Wooden Gifts – I order these every year for my niece and nephew. I love that you can get whatever picture and name you want. They always turn out so pretty – as has everything I have ordered from there. It’s something that can be kept and doesn’t take up much space. Personalized gifts rock!
Day 4 – Microfiber Drying Mats – My sister got these for me and I LOVE THEM. I use them daily. They would be good for any person who spends time in the kitchen. Easily washed. They are from Bed, Bath and Beyond….so make sure you sign up and get a coupon from them for the best deal.
Day 5 – Unreal Candies (price varies but under $10 for sure). Do you have a candy lover in your life? I love these candies…a treat without worrying about food coloring. These are found at Target and Walgreens. They have “M&Ms” regular and peanut and even a “Snickers” knockoff!
Day 6 – Healthy Treasures Cookbook – This is a FABULOUS cookbook if you have a whole foodie in your life. I use mine all the time. It’s from a Biblical standpoint. The recipes are easy to follow and use easy to find ingredients.
Day 7 – Redbox gift card – Man alive we love this! You can rent a movie for just a bit over $1! Wahoo! Sure beats other venues for rentals. When we rent a movie (and don’t use the library) we rent from here. You can get a real gift card or a digital card. Good for the movie lover in your life.
Day 8 – Cart Cover – I was able to find our cart cover at a consignment sale for $5. And man alive…it’s saved this germo-phob a lot of worry. Ha, ha! This would be a great baby gift for anyone on your list. It doesn’t take up much space at all – in fact, we just keep ours stashed in the trunk.
Day 9 – Classic Wooden Turned Pens – These make a GREAT gift and are all hand made by Barry (the husband half of Humorous Homemaking).
Day 10 – Desk Fan – This got Barry’s vote. He uses his EVERY DAY at work. Of course, you can tell his is years old and isn’t made any more but they are super easy to find. Another good option for the executive in your life. And Barry should know.
Day 11 – eCloth – Man alive you guys. I bought my eCloth from Milk Allergy Mom and I never looked back. I actually don’t care to clean my windows now. The window cloth is AWESOME….and so is the dusting cloth – when I use it. I actually bought a good stock of these items to give for our Christmas gifts.
Day 12 – Handkerchieves – Okay, so I know we’ve already been labeled “gross” in the past because our family uses hankies…but I actually think they are a good gift! Especially for men – it was Barry’s suggestion. We use ours daily – Annie even has her own stack of character hankies, and she LOVES using them.
Day 13 – Lip Balm, etc from Lexie: Naturals – This is my favorite lip balm EVER. Vanilla Peppermint. It glides on beautifully and it smells and works great. Lexie also has other great options, like soap and natural deodorant. I bought several things from Lexie this year to give as gifts. And I know they will be a big hit!
Day 14 – Bow Saw – Another Barry contribution! But actually, his mom has one and uses it a lot too. This is one of those tools that everyone should have around. Especially if you have trees in your yard. Another great gift for a man that won’t break the bank! Easily purchased at Lowes or Home Depot.
Day 15 – Memory Cards – If you have a photographer in your family…or even a mom who likes to take photos, this is a GREAT gift!!! So many things use memory cards these days – and it’s never a bad idea to have an extra one on hand. Even Annie’s little camera uses one! You an get a great price online or if you wait until Black Friday you can likely score an even better deal…unless you’re like me and afraid to leave the house that day.
Day 16 – Lidded Hamper for toys – This was the solution that I came up with to corral Annie’s dolls and stuffed animals. It must all fit in here…and if it doesn’t, something has to go. This would be a great gift for any child…and also the mom. It’s working great here!
Day 17 – Color Wonder coloring books (and accessories) – My kids LOVE these things! And I love them because they don’t make a huge mess! They are great at home and they are great for travel. I have purchased mine online but I’ve had friends tell me they see them in the Target $1 section! I keep looking, but I haven’t lucked up yet.
Day 18 – Thermos Coffee Mug – I am not lying when I tell you this is the best coffee mug of ALL TIME. Barry got me one and I loved it…so I got him one and he loves it. And now we buy them for gifts ALL THE TIME. It will keep your coffee hot for 5+ hours. I’m not talking kinda-sorta-warm…I’m talking HOT. Worth every penny for the coffee lover in your life. I’m serious.
Day 19 – Wall Words – This is one of my favorite little touches in our home. I love having the Word written on the wall. It’s a nice touch and a constant reminder. We have several of these in the house right now, and one day when we build I plan on including them in every room in the house. A great gift for ANY homeowner. And Etsy has about 1 million options if you prefer to have something custom made.
Day 20 – Leatherman Micra – Barry has carried one of these since he was young. And when we were dating, he bought one for me. I use it ALL the time. It’s so nice to have in my purse. It includes a pair of scissors and you wouldn’t believe how often I use those things. A good gift for men, women, or teenagers.
Day 21 – Mason Jar pop sockets – Barry bought me one of these…and I’m seriously in love with it. He says I’m mason jar obsessed – but I think it’s perfectly normal. eBay has all kinds of cell phone covers, but this one is great for the mason jar lover in your life…and everyone has one of those, right?
Day 22 – Felt Nativity – For their first Christmas, we gift each child with their own nativity set. This is the one we have chosen this year for Eli. It’s very child friendly so we don’t have to worry about them breaking it when they play with it. It’s also something they can keep for life – and it is special because it only comes out at Christmas, unlike our Willow Tree nativity.
Day 23 – Cloth napkins from Etsy or mass retailers – I love my cloth napkin stash. Even my kids love using them. It’s a great way to save some cash in the long run. Plus, when you have company over, they’ll think you’re all fancy. It’s just a nice little touch to make your dinner table more special. I think this is a gift that just about anyone would use.
Day 24 – Watercolor paint books – These are one of Annie’s FAVORITE things. And I love it because the water color is right there and I don’t have to hunt it down. Melissa and Doug also offers the paint books where you just need water and a brush…I remember those from back in the day! A fabulous gift for any child – girl or boy. Book pictured is from Target – Melissa and Doug option from Amazon.
Day 25 – The Red Cookbook from Bread Beckers – This is by far my favorite cookbook. It’s mostly baked goods, but it’s still awesome. There are even dehydrating ideas in the back. Sue gives lots of great information about wheat and how to bake with fresh flour…but even if you don’t have a mill, you will LOVE this cookbook. The Cream Cheese Biscuits are amazing!
Day 26 – Melissa and Doug calendar – I got this for Annie and she just loves it. It’s helping her learn dates and the concept of time. When I say “in one week” I can show her on this calendar. It has magnetic pieces so you can easily change the months – and it has lots of little pieces for special occasions. I keep her extra pieces in a Tupperware box in our school drawers. Good option for younger children in your life.
Day 27 – Melissa and Doug Responsibility Chart – Have y’all gathered that we love Melissa and Doug around here? Annie loves keeping track of her chores with this system. I like that there are blank pieces that I can add my own ideas for her. She just likes placing the magnets where they go -hey, whatever works. This is available on Amazon or at mass retailers like Target. We found ours at a consignment sale.
Day 28 – Recordable storybooks from Hallmark – Annie and Andy each have one of these and they love them! My dad recorded the story for them and I think this is a priceless gift. Annie loves turning the pages to hear Grandad talk. This is a great gift if you’re a grandparent and have a grandchild that doesn’t live close by….or even if they live 3 minutes away like mine! I think other people may sell them, but I mostly see these at Hallmark. At Christmas, you can get some good deals there!
Day 29 – MagnaDoodle – This has proven to be one of the best toys EVER. I remember playing with them all the time when I was little too. Annie and Andy both love this toy and it’s super to take on trips because it’s not messy! Three cheers for MagnaDoodles!
Day 30 – USA Pans – Seriously, these are the BEST pans I have ever used. EVER. I’ve been converting all my friends to these pans as well. Since they aren’t “cheap” I am buying one new one at a time, as I have the extra cash, and slowly replacing my pans for this better option.
Nothing sticks to these babies. You don’t have to grease them and everything just falls right out – even brownies. Made from aluminized steel and coated with Americoat. Americoat does not contain PTFE’s or PFOA’s.
Day 31 – Craft Supplies ($1+) at Dollar Tree and other craft stores. Annie and I LOVE when people give us this type of thing. Annie especially. Pick up items and make a craft basket for your friend – filled with their favorite supplies. This is a very personal gift and one that will really be appreciated.
Day 32 – Cuppow – This thing turns any mason jar into a cup. I love having it on hand. As you know, I love my mason jars…great gift for the mason jar lover in your life. And everyone has one of those.
Day 33 – “It’s Only Too Late if You’re Dead” Drink Tumbler – This is something we sell in our store and makes it a lot easier (and more fun) to get your daily water intake.
Day 34 – Little House Paper Dolls – Annie got these for her birthday and they are super cute! She loves playing with any set of paper dolls. They don’t take up much space at all and are a nice quiet toy if you need one for church or a doctor’s office. It’s such a classic toy and any girl would enjoy them.
Day 35 – Bird Feeder + Seed – Check Lowes and other stores for clearance. Barry got me this last year for Christmas and I just love it! It’s good for anyone that enjoys being outdoors. Right now is the time to buy because lots of stores will have them on clearance! Make sure to include bird seed.
Day 36 – Little Tykes TBall Set – Andy got this for his birthday and both kids love playing with it. I love that it’s able to hang on the wall in the garage, so it’s not out in the way when it’s not being used. We bought another one for a gift because the price is great.
Day 37 – Camelbak cup for kids – I bought one of these on the recommendation of you guys. And boy, were you right! This cup rocks! It doesn’t spill and it’s great for travel. All of our kids have and use these cups. Note: The price varies based on the pattern you choose.
Day 38 – Oster Immersion Blender – I love this blender – it makes soups and blended drinks (like Bulletproof Coffee) so easy! Amazon is all over the board with pricing…some days it’s high and some lower. Mine is from Target and I paid $21 but that was several years ago. Good gift for the foodie in your life.
Day 39 – Crocheted Dish Rags ($3+) from Etsy or a local friend. These are the BEST EVER! I love mine and can hardly use other dish rags now.
I purchase locally from Es’s Craft Essentials.
Day 40 – King Arthur Whole Grain Cookbook – Honestly – one of the best baking cookbooks of all time. I love the Easiest 100% Whole Wheat Bread recipe. Actually, all the recipes I’ve tried have been successful. Great gift for anyone who likes to bake or even a newlywed couple.
Day 41 – Rain Gauge – We love our rain gauge. I don’t know why, but it’s cool to say “Yeah, it rained an inch.” Be cool like us and get a rain gauge.
Day 42 – Play Doh – You can make your own play doh, but really we just prefer the kind you can buy. It’s so soft and colorful. I can keep both my kids busy and happy with this – and Mama gets a shower. Everyone wins! Fabulous gift for any child.
Day 43 – An American Tale – Okay, so maybe not this SPECIFIC movie, but one from your childhood. I love sharing my favorite movies and shows with Annie…and I think they’re better than anything new that’s coming out. This one is a total classic – and Annie has loved it as much as I did…as much as I still do.
Day 44 – Boonie Hat – available from Amazon or an army/navy surplus store. This is a great gift for any man who has to be outside for any length of time – and I actually have one for myself too. Barry wears this every time he has to mow. It keeps him from burning his head off – my dad also wears one.
Day 45 – Misto – I have had my Misto for almost 10 years and it’s still going strong. I use it almost daily – it’s been one of the best things I have bought for my kitchen. I use olive oil or sesame oil in it.
Day 46 – Ducky Umbrella – This has brought countless hours of happiness to Annie. So, she wanted it on the list. An umbrella for a child or an adult is a great idea. Although, you might not buy your grandmother a ducky umbrella. I have about 3 umbrellas in my car, so I can reach one no matter where I am. And I am bad about losing them, so it’s always nice to have an extra one stashed.
Day 47 – Budget Envelopes – Dave Ramsey envelopes are great and we’ve used them for years. Only recently did we switch to using some of the “cuter” ones. Our favorite hand-made version can be bought on Etsy from A Time 4 Everything. This is a GREAT option for any adult – or even teens. Annie and Andy love theirs! I take my budget everywhere I go.
Day 48 – Wooden Blocks – We LOVE wooden toys around here. They are less likely to break and they don’t take batteries. All children should have a set of blocks. They can be used for so much creative play. This is the set we have from Melissa and Doug.
Day 49 – Coffee! Need I say more than that?
Day 50 – Jesus Storybook Bible – This is a family favorite. We have used it a lot for family Bible time. I have also heard the same from bunches of my friends. I love the illustrations! It’s just a fantastic book for kids.
Day 51 – Amber Teething Necklaces – Mine is from from Etsy. I have used it on all of our kids. It seems to work well for us – and I know it works well for a few friends of mine too. It helps reduce teething pain in babies.
Day 52 – Dust Buster – A good little hand vac comes in so handy. I’m able to clean up small messes quickly – and my kids love using it to help clean too. This is a fabulous gift for any woman…or any 2 year old, if yours is like all of mine have been.
Day 53 – Monogrammed Cuff Links from Frederick Engraving on Etsy – I got these for Barry and they are so nice. He wears them for special occasions. I love that they can be personalized. Good gift for any man on your list who has to dress up regularly.
Day 54 – Our 24 Family Ways devotional – This is the book that we’ve used for our daily family devotions. It’s really fabulous. I love the Clarksons. It’s a book that we’re going to be able to use over and over.
Day 55 – Aprons (Flirty Aprons – price varies, but they run sales OFTEN) – I love every single one of my aprons. And I don’t think there is a thing as too many.I love wearing them – they keep me clean and make me feel pretty. The Flirty Apron that Barry bought me is one of my favorites.
Day 56 – Soap Nuts – I love these, but you know that.I have several posts on the blog about it already. They are a great gift option for the “natural and frugal” person on your list. Or buy them for yourself – that’s totally cool too.
Day 57 – I Make Milk Necklace from Cheeky Monkey Pendants on Etsy – This necklace just makes me happy every time I wear it. Good gift for any breastfeeding mama.
Day 58 – Crayon Rocks – Annie has loved these since she was a wee tot – Andy loves them too. I love the little bag they come in, so they are easy to tote to church and other places.
Day 59 – Blue Vintage Mason Jars – I can’t even begin to tell you how much I enjoy these jars. Yes, they are imitation jars but the older ones are harder and harder to find. Great gift for any mason jar lover. Mine are from Sam’s Club.
Day 60 – Paracord Watches from Etsy – I bought one of these for Barry and he really likes it. It’s a nice gift for a man…what man doesn’t need another watch? My dad goes through watches like toilet paper. Ha ha!
Day 61 – Nativity Puzzle from Barry’s shop – I think these turned out super cute!!! Barry has them available in his Etsy store. This would be a good gift for kids or adults. If you want to buy these in bulk, he offers wholesale pricing.
Day 62 – Digital Kitchen Scale – I use my kitchen scale all the time. It’s been very helpful on multiple occasions – especially when dividing and freezing bulk meats. For me, digital is easier to read than manual options. This link isn’t my exact model (it’s not made any more), but it’s very close.
Day 63 – Wool Dryer Balls – I really love my set. It does not cut down on static electricity for me, but it does help my clothes get dryer a bit quicker and makes my towels nice and fluffy. Some people like to put some essential oils on them for a nice scent.
Day 64 – Tape Measure – This one is courtesy of Barry. He says “Ladies, get your man a NICE tape measurer. They will thank you.” And there ya have it. And actually, my kids play with them too…so that really says something. Everyone should know how to read one – and I was never taught that in school.
Day 65 – Personalized Backpacks from Sassy Covers Baby Boutique on Etsy – I have one of these for each of my kids. We LOVE them!!! I like to keep them prepped with extra clothes and such so that they are always ready to grab if we need them when we are going to be gone for the day.
Day 66 – Safety Glasses – Another idea from Barry! And actually, this is a good gift for the ladies too…because I know when Barry is wearing these I am less likely to worry that he’s going to poke his eye out with a random piece of flying debris. And yes, I do worry about stuff like that. I am so lame.
Day 67 – Lilla Rose Flexi-Clips – When my hair is longer, I seriously wear these every single day. They are SO easy to use and make me feel pretty. I also love their bobby pins and headbands. Great gift for any woman or girl on your list.
Day 68 – Bible Coloring Books from BrBc Books – We got sets of these for all the kids on our gift list this year. Annie LOVES her set. We also went ahead and got a set for Andy and Eli. I plan on pairing each set with a pack of crayons.
Day 69 – Pampered Chef 1 cup prep bowl set with lids – Ohmygosh! I use these EVERY DAY. I wish I had two sets. They are so handy. Yes, they’re small but I always need to store small things. Or melt a small amount of something. I love that they are glass and not plastic. Probably one of my top 5 favorite Pampered Chef items.
Day 70 – Earth Mama Angel Baby Products – I absolutely love this brand…everything I have tried has been awesome. I especially love the baby wash. Great gift for any expectant mama on your list, or her new baby. Yet another gift that doesn’t require dusting. Shop via my Vitacost link and you can save $10 off your first $30 order!
Day 71 – Chick-Fil-A Calendars (while supplies last at your local restaurant) – We LOVE these and I look forward to my freebie each month! They are worth every single penny – you get a bunch of free items. We buy a good stack of these every year to give as gifts. I want to be the spokeswoman for Chick-Fil-A.
Day 72 – Nose Frida – Okay, ya’ll know I’ve been singing the praises of these for a long time…and I will continue! Eli seems to need this regularly because he gets lots of boogies. Fabulous gift for any new mom – expectant mom – or even a new baby. I know I purchased one for a gift this year!
Day 73 – Doughnut Maker – or at Bed Bath &Beyond with coupon. Is this a necessity? Nope – but it sure is fun! Annie and Andy love the little doughnuts I can make in this. Those recipes you find on Pinterest for mug cakes work great in this! You might even find a great deal on this contraption if you shop Christmas sales.
Day 74 – Plan to Eat Subscriptions are a great way to help teach others to meal plan. Note: Subscriptions are generally ½ off on Black Friday weekend making them $19.50/year! Buy for yourself or buy for a gift! Yipee!!! Meal planning can save you SO much money. I meal planning. It’s my thang. Take advantage of this Black Friday deal before it’s too late.
Day 75 – Mahogany Pen Display – Another gem from Barry’s shop! This is a great gift for the businessman, journaler or artist in your life – because as we all know, they can be really hard to buy for if you’re on a budget. These are elegant and would make a great addition to any desk.
Day 76 – Quirky Pizza Cutter – This is the best pizza cutter I have ever had. I love how easy it is to hold – and it’s very sharp so it gets the job done. I’ve had several pizza cutters and this one surpasses them all – a great gift from my cousin, SarahAnne. Good for the foodie in your life!
Day 77 – Thirty-One Lunch Thermal from a local consultant – I love these!!! It’s so nice to have a good lunch box so you can grab it when you need to pack a lunch or snack for on the go – and we do that a lot around here! They are great quality and it’s fun to pick patterns to match personalities.
Day 78 – Lap Desk – I use mine ALL the time. Since most people have laptops these days instead of desk top computers, these are nice to have. This would make a fabulous gift for anyone – especially that “hard to buy for” college student.
Day 79 – Thistle Ridge Soap – This is our FAVORITE homemade soap. It’s the only shave soap that Barry can use without breaking out. He’s been using it since we were married. You can get a mug and shave soap to make a GREAT gift for any man. I also like using the Oatmeal Soap on the kids. (I’m not an affiliate.)
Day 80 – Popcorn Popper – Vintage or with a coupon from Bed, Bath, and Beyond. We love our popcorn popper! It’s an old one we bought on eBay…but they sell newer versions at mass retailers. Nothing can beat homemade popcorn on the stovetop! Especially when you pop it in coconut oil. YUM!
Day 81 – My cookbooks in print or digital – Yes, this is a shameless plug for my books. But hey, I use them all the time. It would be weird if I didn’t, right? I’ve given them for gifts over and over…and people seem to like them. Or else you’re all lying to me. Give the crock pot lover in your life a great gift this year!
Day 82 – Melissa and Doug Pattern Blocks and Boards – We use these for school (and in Anne’s Quiet Mornings Basket) and she loves them. I gotta admit, it’s pretty fun even for me. We love wooden toys! Melissa and Doug is always a hit here.
Day 83 – Spirograph – I had one of these when I was little and now Annie has one. Such a great classic toy! It’s a lot of fun – and it’s quiet…and needs no batteries. NOTE: the price on this one seems to bound around on Amazon. I would also check Target and Walmart.
Day 84 – Travel Potty Seat – Ohmygoodness. I can’t even tell you how many times this little thing has saved our butts – pun intended. When you have a child, this is so handy…because it makes any adult potty child friendly. And it folds up nicely to fit in a large purse or diaper bag. Winner! Winner! I have two.
Day 85 – Children’s Plate Set – My kids love their plate sets. And I love giving useful gifts. My mom gives these plate sets all the time. Useful and fun! Plus, you can get them in just about any character. Make sure to also check Ross Dress For Less because they regularly have them for around $10/set.
Day 86 – Mason Jar Lamp Kit – My mom got me this last year for Christmas and I love it!!! It will work on a newer jar, but I like vintage. If you want to find a jar to go with it, check antique and thrift shops – and for the shade, my burlap one is from Ross.
Day 87 – Farberware Tea Kettle – I get so many compliments on my tea kettle. I love it! I don’t drink tea, but I do drink hot cocoa and sometimes instant coffee. Plus, it just looks cute sitting on my stovetop. A good gift for any homemaker in your life! Check out Ross for great deals on these or stay at home and have it brought to you from Amazon.
Day 88 – Biggie Beads and Flat Board – My sister bought this set for Annie and she has so much fun with it! I had the mini version when I was younger, but these big beads are easier for little hands.
Day 89 – Foam Soap Dispensers + Liquid Soap + Instructions – This is what I gave for gifts last year. I used mason jars as the dispensers, but they require a bit more work. The instructions to make foam soap are on my blog or all over Pinterest. Foam soap has been a lifesaver here!
Day 90 – Homedics Sound Machine – Ohmygoodness. These things have saved our butt several times. Annie and Andy both have one in their room. Because our house is small, it can get noisy. These really help drown out noise – especially morning noise, so that I don’t wake the kids up as I am working in the kitchen.
Day 91 – Sit and Spin – Annie and Andy love this – I’m not sure why because it kinda makes me want to yak. Barry loved it when he was young too – so I guess I’m the weirdo. Once again, Amazon is all over the board on this price. It usually runs around $25, but it can go up or down. Check Walmart or Target for sales.
Day 92 – Goodnight Moon book – My kids love this book! A good bet for any child or even a baby…because books don’t get old.
Day 93 – Melissa and Doug Color by Dots – Annie is in LOVE with this coloring book. When she’s done, I think I might have to get another one. Ha! This would be a great gift paired with a pack of crayons.
Day 94 – Norpro Bread Pans – These are some of the best bread pans I have found (next to my favorite, USA Pans). Great for the baker in your life.
Day 95 – Muffin Scoop – This might seem like a frivolous gift, but dude. I wished and pined after this thing for almost a year. When I finally bough it, I cannot. stop. making. muffins.
Day 96 – Sequence game – Other than the occasional best free solitaire printables we get for our monthly solitaire competitions, this is probably my favorite board game of all time. Barry and I kick tail when we pair up for this. But WATCH OUT if we’re on opposing sides. Things get dirty. He likes to cheat. But he says it’s me. Whatever.
Day 97 – My First Piggy Bank – All my kids have their first piggy bank. Train up a child, right? Great gift for a new baby! Or any child…because they all like to collect money. Ross sometimes has them for great deals.
Day 98 – My Busy Book – Annie has two of these and LOVES THEM. They are kinda pricey online, but I’ve seen them at Sam’s Club for reasonable prices. It’s a book and toy all in one. Easy to store and doesn’t take up much space.
Day 99 – Snack/Candy basket – Easy to pick up quickly and easy to package – no dusting. I make candy baskets a lot for the men on our gift list. Make it even better by pairing it with a movie or movie tickets.
Day 100 – Gift Certificate to their favorite place – available at drug stores for a quick pick up. This is VERY good for last minute. Walgreens is always open (sad, but true) so you can stop by and pick a gift card from their vast selection. Nothing says “I Love You” like a piece of plastic that can be exchanged for food. Ha!
Dineen says
Here’s one I stumbled on at Home Depot out getting potting soil– a mushroom growing kit. If you know a cook or gardener who likes mushrooms, they have a kit for $20 to grow oyster mushrooms. While most kids don’t seem to care for mushrooms, the oyster mushrooms are an interesting fungus so this could be an interesting family gift even if the product isn’t eaten.
Julie Chittock says
That’s definitely a good idea! An interesting and unique gift that I think kids and adults could enjoy. Thanks for the suggestion Dineen 🙂

I give that Bible to every child on their 2nd Christmas! 🙂

I like to use real mason jars with lids for drinking…and if you take it on the go with a smoothie or whatever, you can use the GreenPaxx silicone straws that fold down under the lid when you have it on. Those straws are a-mazing. Highly recommend!!! They are on Amazon.
Stacy says
I <3 Amazon!
Kristie A says
You are like my own personal shopper! Wonderful ideas. You listed things that I wouldn’t have thought to give as gifts…but I know they are going to love it. I love the rain gauge idea…I’m going to give two of them as gifts. Plus, I found a few things that I’ll put on my Christmas list. Thank you!
