FAQs
Will financial coaching help me?
That depends. I can’t force you to succeed with money. I can provide guidance, give you advice on how to cut out unnecessary spending and make the most of your income, and offer support and encouragement. But it is up to you to implement what you learn.
I’m broke. How can I afford coaching?!
This is the most common question from someone suffering financially. “Those who can’t afford it need it the most and those who can afford it don’t need it at all.” However, if you compare my coaching fees vs. a bankruptcy attorney ($1,000-2,500+) or debt consolidation company (average $50/month for 1-4 years), financial coaching is a much more affordable option. If we begin our session and I believe coaching won’t help your situation, your fees will be refunded.
I’m not local to you. Can we still meet?
Yes! I provide coaching in-person, via Skype (or similar), over the phone, or even via email. If you are committed to making the changes necessary to succeed with your money, we will together find a venue for coaching sessions to take place.
I’m ready to file bankruptcy. Can you still help?
Probably. In the majority of bankruptcy situations, the person filing bankruptcy isn’t actually bankrupt – he/she is just desperate, hopeless and looking for an ‘out.’ We can look at your situation and determine together if bankruptcy is your best option or if there are other ways to fix the mess.
What do you think about debt consolidation?
Debt consolidation is rarely a cure for the problem of debt; it only aims to relieve the symptoms. If you’re thinking of consolidating your debts to relieve some financial stress, I would highly recommend financial coaching first.
I’ve read your book. What else will I learn?
While much of the information we may cover in a financial coaching is available in something I’ve written, the coaching will be tailored directly to your own situation. Like you might expect, anything written in a book has to remain fairly general in nature. We will get SPECIFIC in your sessions and you’ll have plenty of opportunity to ask questions about your situation.
If you are also running a financial advising company, a financial advisor coaching program may help you. So before you invest money, time and effort in any financial choice, please consider your options. I want you to succeed – I really do – even if that means you and I never meet. However, if you believe a session (or group of them) may help you get where you need to be financially, please get in touch with me so we can get started.
