I’ve been talking about essential oils for a pretty good while now… and y’all, it’s going to keep on being a favorite topic of mine for a LONG time to come! Today I want to share 5 things that essential oils can do for you. I know they can do these for you, because this is true of EVERYONE. Before we jump in, I probably should clarify that on all five of these, I’m specifically referring to Young Living Essential Oils, because that’s the brand I use, the brand I know, and the brand I trust. I’ve tried others and…well…I can’t necessarily say that about them.
1. Essential Oils help you stay above “the wellness line.”
Lots of people have the false assumption that the main purpose of essential oils is to replace everything in modern medicine, that when you have an issue, you reach for the oils instead of opening up your medicine cabinet. That’s not quite true.
Essential oils are an excellent health choice, but they won’t cure serious illnesses or keep us from ever getting sick. We still get stomach bugs and snotty noses around here! We will still get sick because we live in a fallen world where there will always be junk to deal with.
Essential oils WILL HELP equip your body to handle sickness when it comes.
Don’t think of oils as something to reach for to fix your sickness – think of them as tools to promote wellness. Essential oils help your body get to a higher wellness line, so your body is better able to fight off sickness.
A good essential oil reference guide (or app) is ESSENTIAL! No pun intended 😉 But seriously, an essential oil desk reference is a great tool to help you understand what oils help support each specific area of your body.
It’s a false assumption that an oil will heal you and you will never be sick again. But in the Myers house, we have seen an overall improvement in our wellness.
2. Essential Oils help us live toxin-free.
I have read that about 5-10% of cancer in the US is caused bye genetic defects or hereditary. The other 90% or more is caused by things in our environment. Even if that statistic is WAY OFF, it still tells a powerful story. Illness and disease are not avoidable, but so many conditions are preventable. I know some people laugh at this and think that it’s not a big deal. But Eli changed that.
I won’t tell the full story of our son, Eli, all over again, but his little body cannot handle synthetic ANYTHING. But y’all, chemicals, synthetics, and toxins are literally everywhere. Look around your house and grab a bottle off your shelf – dish soap, hair spray, toilet bowl cleaner, etc. and do me a favor. To see how it healthy it is and what toxins it contains, check it out on the Think Dirty app or the EWG website/app – both are great resources! These tools rank the various products around our houses on a scale of 1 to 10. 1 is a safe, healthy option, while 10 means you’re probably going to grow a 3rd boob (okay, maybe not THAT, but I think you get my drift).
We trust manufacturers WAY too much.
Some of the worst are products are actually marketed to our kids. They are literally bathing in toxins. In the Myers’ house, we have eliminated as many toxic products as we possibly can. So many of the chemicals found in products most Americans use every day (like Dawn dish soap) have been grandfathered in before a lot of the regulations and testing requirements came along so the chemicals have never been tested!! And did you know the term fragrance is a trade secret protected by law? It’s a way for companies to avoid having to put on their label what’s actually in there. Scary, huh?
We have to decide that we deserve to have a say in what we put in and on our bodies. We can know better and we can do better. The Chemical Free Home is a great little book with all sorts of tips and great recipes for creating substitutions for deodorant, detergents, baby wash, facial cleansers and more. It’s chock full of information!
3. Lucy Libido says there’s an oil for THAT.
Did you know that essential oils can actually increase your libido? There are so many great oils out there that just make it wonderful: Joy, Sensation, Cypress, Ylang Ylang, Valor, Goldenrod, Orange, and Clary Sage are just a few. I realize this is a topic that people try to avoid talking about. I get it. I realize most people are thinking…really, Stacy? But yes, y’all. My team and I ALL love Lucy, and her little book about how to use oils in the bedroom.
This topic is fun to talk about with other married, Christian women. Essential Oils have helped so many ladies in our group have a better time with their husbands. It helps it be more enjoyable. If you’re not married…well, the Lucy Libido book is a great one to read when you do get married. And these oils have changed a lot of marital beds (including ours) for the MUCH better.
4. Essential Oils help balance our emotions.
Our sense of smell is the only sense directly tied to our emotions. Our others are tied to our brain and how we physically feel. Let me give you an example. When I was little, we would go to my grandparent’s house on Thanksgiving. After we ate, all the kids would sit on the floor with the Sears Wish Book. I can still to this day remember that same smell – those printed pages and the remnants of Thanksgiving dinner. That smell triggers my mind to go back to that warm childhood memory of mine.
Essential Oils have the power to trigger positive feelings and emotions.
I know which oils I need to go to when I want to be calmed, when I need energy, when I am feeling overwhelmed, etc. And you will learn as you go which oils are best for you and your emotions. With Young Living oils, the only time the smell matters is when you are specifically dealing with your emotions. Sometimes you won’t like the smell of certain oils, but you ignore it because of the therapeutic benefits.
5. Essential Oils can help us financially.
Income is the last thing that most people want to talk about. But y’all…I can’t not mention this because essential oils can help you financially. The business side is not the reason I joined with Young Living. I didn’t even think about it at first. The reason I joined as a member was so I could get 24% off my essential oils forever. You should always fall in love with the oils first!
I don’t believe you can do very well selling something you don’t understand, trust, value, and love. I have several different Facebook groups, depending on what aspect of the oils you are most interested in. And I have one entire group that is specifically about how to make money and grow your business with Young Living. Less than 10% of the people on my team are in Young Living for the business side of it. The rest are just doing it to save money on the oils they love!
But still, I would be doing y’all a disservice if I didn’t mention the financial freedom that comes from choosing to pursue Young Living as a business. I have seen this business change the lives of the people in my group so I had to mention it. Here’s in the income disclosure in case you are interested in learning more.
There are only a few times in life when I can honestly say I found something that made a HUGE impact on our family – like discovering the benefits of homemade bread and living debt free, to give you a couple of examples. Discovering the benefits of Young Living Essential Oils has literally revolutionized our lives. I want you to join me. Will you? Click here to learn how easy it is to get started.
