“I am so busy, I just don’t have time for that.” “As much as I want to, I can’t add anything else to my plate.” You know the drill – you decided it was time to make a healthy change, but you failed. Maybe you got overwhelmed with all the information because you just had to “know it all” before you got started. Maybe you didn’t actually believe it was possible, so you talked yourself out of it. Or maybe you didn’t actually want to make the change – you just said you did. 😉 #beenthere Today, I want to work through some ideas and tips for how to make healthy changes that will actually last!
[Read more…]Conscious Language: What it is and How it Works
Let me preface this by saying I am not a doctor – shocker, right? I’m definitely not a psychiatrist, psychologist, or any sort of expert in these types of things. But I have done a lot of reading on the topic of conscious language and have all sorts of thoughts to share. Spoiler Alert: Conscious Language has changed a LOT (for the better) for us.

Deep thoughts with Stacy… does anyone else ever wonder why it isn’t cinnamon roles and casserolls instead of cinnamon rolls and casseroles? File that under “pointless things Stacy ponders”. LOL. But seriously, today I want to talk about reheating food – specifically about reheating cinnamon rolls and casseroles.
[Read more…]Dealing with Negativity
Before we get started, let’s be clear…this isn’t a passive-aggressive rant on someone who has been mean to me, or some judgmental sermon about a company, cause, or political organization. Instead, this is a common-sense guide to dealing with negativity in your life, whether it is online or face-to-face. For some reason, a lot of our society has forgotten its politeness, and often, when someone disagrees with something you say or do, they immediately get ugly. Let’s talk about how to deal with all of that, shall we?
[Read more…]Why I Finally Got Over My Dumb Self and Started Using Essential Oils Daily + a look at how we do it
Have you ever said something dumb – and then had to back-pedal and change your tune?
I still remember where I was standing – it was in the girls’ bedroom. And I went Live on Periscope to tell about 4,000 people that I thought essential oils were DUMB and I was STOPPING.
You see, I had been using “essential oils” for years. I had had ZERO results. I thought they were ridiculous, so I gave up and walked away. The problem is, I was using any essential oil from Dick, Harry, or Suzie Q, and I expected them all to work the same.
Here’s what I didn’t know – I didn’t know my friend Nikki was watching. I didn’t know she had bought some for me to give to Eli – I didn’t know…I didn’t know what I had done wrong for years.

We’re getting ready to chat again about Ditch and switch. This time, we are headed into the kitchen! Since I know some of y’all might be wondering, what exactly does ditch and switch mean? This is all about deciding to ditch a nasty, harmful toxic product and switch it out with something better and healthier. You don’t need to go out and buy a whole new closet full of cleaning supplies all at one time and break your budget! Instead, we slowly ditch and switch one or two products at a time.
When something runs out; replace it with something better.

This is the first post in a three post series all about what I’m calling “Ditch and Switch”. What exactly IS ditch and switch? Several years ago, my family and I became very aware of the harmful and toxic chemicals in so many of the products we were buying in the store. We learned about this firsthand because of the struggle we faced with my son, Eli, and his very sensitive skin. Very slowly, over the last few years, we have begun to gradually replace the toxic products in our home with cleaner, healthier options. And just so this whole idea of “Ditch and Switch” is not too overwhelming, I’m breaking it up into three parts: Bathroom, Laundry, and Kitchen.
And today, we’re headed into the Bathroom!

Slowly in our home, we have replaced things that are harmful or contain harmful or toxic chemicals. Over time, we’ve been able to do better! We don’t believe it has to be all or nothing. We believe gradual change is the kind that sticks! When you jump in and try to do something 100% whole hog – it’s too much!
Today, I want to focus on ditching and switching in the laundry room and cleaning closet.

You may have heard me talk before about the busy bags we take to church. Each and every Saturday night, I fill our busy bag with all kinds of goodies to keep the kids occupied during church. I have a box full of crayons, markers, coloring books, sticker books, activity books, different small crafts and activities that I store in our basement and can choose fun things from.
Since I get asked all the time what’s inside those church busy bags (specifically), I did a quick video on Facebook showing a sneak peek. But I also wanted to share over here since some of you prefer to read instead of watch a video. So…what’s in the busy bags?
