After talking with several of you, it became apparent to me that a resource listing work from home companies was a NEED. So many of you want to stay home with your kids, but don’t feel as though you can. If you could find some work to do during nap-time or at night after they were sleeping, you would feel much more secure. First, we must remember that our only security lies in Jesus (sorry for the cliché sermon, but it’s true). Second, we need to get up off our keisters and TRY. Almost no one got a job by sitting on their tushy. It’s tough love around here, folks!
First off, I have not applied or worked for any of these businesses. I did some research online to create this list – everything I have listed below came from reputable websites like Christian Personal Finance and All You magazine. I did not list anything I found at The Enquirer or Iwillscamyou.com.
Lastly, keep in mind these kinds of resources change ALL.THE.TIME. This post will get periodic updates, but I apologize in advance for links that no longer work. 🙁
I realize that not all of these will work for you – you might be able to find one to work. But one is better than nothing, right? Some of these companies have specific requirements – and we all know I won’t be a translator any time soon (what did she just say?? I can’t understand her slang!). Just look through and see if any are a good fit for you. And bookmark and share this post with anyone that needs it! Work from home companies DO exist!
As always, please make sure to read the fine print – you would do that before signing on to any job, right? You want to make sure they aren’t going to send some monstrous equipment to your house or make you name your middle child Bathsheeba or require that you work in your birthday suit.
Special note: I did not include “blogger” on the list. Why? Because I feel like most people are under the false assumption that blogging is “easy” work. Well, guess what? Blogging for money takes more time and effort than just about any job – you work double the hours for the pay. You MUST love blogging to do it…not love MONEY to do it. That is all.

And there you go. I hope it’s a blessing.
A couple years ago, being a stay at home, homeschooling mom (of 4 children) for many years, I suddenly became aware of my approaching retirement and college expenses for my children. I wondered what to do and someone approached me with a home based business opportunity. I was immediately interested when I learned about “residual income.” This seemed to be an answer to prayer as I wanted to remain at home raising my children, yet needing that extra income at the same time. It’s a good fit also because of the flexibility it offers, which is much needed in my schedule.

Our goal is to become debt free. It may take us a little longer as we did not learn about Dave Ramsey until late in life (nor did we have the ideal example growing up). We feel very privileged and blessed to raise and school our children ourselves. To some it’s a sacrifice, but to us, we would have it no other way. We have only one chance to make the most of educating our children in the love and fear of God.
Great List…!!! Thank you
You’re most welcome!
Great list! Should be quite helpful for those looking for home-based work opportunities. Am currently working for Cyber Coders at home as Technical Project Manager. I found them after becoming a member of cyberpositions.com I love the job so, for now, I don’t need your list. But will certainly bookmark this page, you never know what it’s good for! Thanks for your post!
Thank you, Maricel.
Don’t forget teaching lessons: sewing, cooking, cake decorating, music, art, crochet etc….

Another great freelance website to work at is Fiverr. I’ve been doing freelance writing on there for the past several months, and it’s been a small, but steady, source of income. =)

Amazon Mechanical Turk is an option. Some of it is quick, some takes time, but I believe if you stick with it you can earn a fair amount. https://www.mturk.com/mturk/welcome
I love being a virtual assistant. The timing on me getting the position was a definite God thing.
you mention elance.com but didn’t mention oDesk.com 😀 These are all a great place to start. There is also Zery’s (formerly InteractMedia) and ArticleDocument.
Thanks for adding to the list!
I LOVE working from home. I think everyone who wants to be able to work from home, should give it a shot. However, with so many scams out there, it is nice to have a list all in one place. 🙂
